The 34 by 22-foot building rests on brick piers, is five bays wide, and has a gable roof with chimneys on both ends. The one and one-half story building was constructed in two periods. Period I, dating to the first quarter of the 19th century, was a one and one-half story house with a shed in the rear and a winder staircase located in the southwest corner of the front room. In the second quarter of the 19th century an addition was made to the west end of the building, adding a heated room, rear shed and an unheated chamber, which is accessed through the original stair.
